We are a husband and wife team who enjoy being stewards of the land. We operate Local Yolk at our family owned ranch, Pilot Creek Ranch. Comprised of 970 acres of rolling hills, we are located in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, bordering the North Fork of the American River and Auburn State Recreation Area. We are now the 4th generation family ranchers present since the late 1800’s.

Pasture-Raised & Humanly Treated: We treat our Ladies with care like the queens that they are! The Ladies are not crammed in cages or live in factory warehouses. They roam freely on an acre at a time while foraging on grasses, seeds, plants, bugs, and worms, and have adventures in the outdoors EVERYDAY. They are only indoors when they are laying, perching, or sleeping in their mobile trailer.

Rotational Method Of Grazing:  The Ladies are rotated every few days using portable electric fencing to avoid overgrazing and soil erosion. Instead they fertilize the soil, help rid invasive plants and bring back our native species.

Predator Friendly: We utilize livestock guardian dogs to deter encounters with wildlife and provide protection for the Ladies.

Healthy Feed: They have access to Certified Organic, Soy-Free, and Non-GMO feed and clean water at all times.
