Giving Box Program

Giving Box Program

Thanks to grants and donations from our community, the Giving box program provides free, local produce to those facing food insecurity in our region. Our Giving Box program compliments other nutrition assistance programs and ensures people in need receive enough healthy fruits and vegetables. The  program also ensures farmers are paid a fair price while recipients receive fresh, first quality produce.

In North Lake Tahoe, we partner with Tahoe Truckee Unified School District’s Food Pantry Program, St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, and the Calvary Chapel to distribute Giving Boxes.

Giving Box Program Details

Our Giving Box Program provides critical support to families in need by delivering fresh, first-quality produce directly to their tables. Each week, we distribute 61 Giving Boxes to food-insecure families throughout Truckee and North Lake Tahoe. Of these, 10 boxes are picked up at our warehouse, and 50 are delivered by our dedicated church partners to families in the community.

During the holiday season, we expand our efforts to ensure no family goes without. We distribute an additional 100 Giving Boxes to food-insecure families in the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District, with the School District handling delivery to make the process as seamless as possible.

The Giving Boxes are carefully built by our staff and volunteers on Wednesday evenings, using produce harvested fresh that same morning. This ensures the highest quality and freshness for the families we serve.
