Salsa Verde

 
 

Ingredients

 
  • 1 pint of Tomatillos

  • 2-3 cloves of garlic

  • 1 teaspoon of salt

  • 1-2 green hot peppers 

  • ½ large onion 

  • 1 handful of cilantro leaves 

  • 1 tablespoon of lime juice


Instructions

  1. Turn the oven to broil. Remove the Tomatillo husks and place on a lined baking sheet. Remove the top of the hot peppers and add to the baking sheet. 

  2. Place the baking sheet in the oven for 5 minutes or until the tomatillos and hot peppers begin to blacken. Remove the baking sheet, flip over the tomatillos and peppers, and repeat the process until both sides have a slight char. 

  3. In a food processor or blender combine the tomatillos, hot peppers, half of an onion roughly chopped, salt, garlic, cilantro, and lime juice. Pulse on high until your desired texture is achieved. 

  4. Top salsa with green onions and enjoy!
